Putting this up for a critique. Its my 2nd ride on this mare a friend is trying to sell. She is a 8 yr old Tennessee Walker/Paint Cross but isnt really gaited. She has has some training (spur stops Great) so is particularly sensitive to any half halts. Also likes to put on the brakes when ever you praise her. I know I could lose 20 lbs (working on it) and I also know I get ahead of her motion at times (former hunter rider myself). Her transitions are abrupt and her canter is super ground covering. She likes to go! She is suitable for a dressage project? I like her for field trials or the hunt myself, but havent tried her on trails yet. I suggested to my friend who can only afford to have me ride once a week that she should find some time to lunge her or hand walk her around the neighborhood to desensitize and condition long and slowly. Shed like her rehomed.
