#QLD #Fire #Weather #Corp FIRE WEATHER WARNING for the Gulf Country, Northwest and Channel Country districts and parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central West and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Issued at 3:23pm EST on Sunday the 22nd of September 2013 for the rest of today and Monday. A very dry air mass lies over most of Queensland. A high pressure system over northeastern New South Wales will maintain gusty south to southeasterly winds over northwestern Queensland and is expected to produce the following conditions for the remainder of today: Severe Fire Danger in the Gulf Country district, the Northwest district, far southwestern parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders district and far northwestern parts of the Central West district. Temperatures to 40 degrees, relative humidity down to 5% and winds to about 35 km/h are expected. A surface trough is expected to move eastwards across South Australia during Monday, and approach the far southwest Queensland border during the evening. Hot, dry, fresh to strong and gusty northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of the trough over western districts are expected to produce the following conditions on Monday: Extreme Fire Danger in the Channel Country district southwest of about Bedourie to Thargomindah. Temperatures to 40 degrees, relative humidity down to 5% and winds to about 45 km/h are expected. Severe Fire Danger in the remainder of the Channel Country district, southern parts of the Northwest district, far southwest parts of the Central West district, and in the Maranoa and Warrego district southwest of Charleville. Temperatures to 39 degrees, relative humidity down to 5% and winds to about 40 km/h are expected. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service Queensland advises that fires will be uncontrollable and fast-moving. The next warning will be issued by 11 pm EST.
