QUICK CHILL: Highs today will struggle to reach the lower 50s in most Alabama cities and towns despite a mostly sunny sky. A northwest breeze will pick up in the afternoon; temperatures will begin to fall after 2pm. Well continue falling through the evening - any plans you have for Friday night look cold, breezy and dry. By sunrise Saturday, well be in the low to mid 20s; highs Saturday warm only into the upper 40s to lower 50s. QUICK WARM-UP: We reach the mid 50s Sunday, then well warm into the lower 60s on Monday. A mostly sunny sky continues each afternoon through Monday. NEXT RAIN CHANCE: A few scattered showers are possible Monday night into Tuesday. At this time, it looks like a quick shot of mostly light rain - we dont expect heavy rain or storms to be involved. COLDER AGAIN? Theres growing evidence that well deal with another shot of cold weather by the middle to latter portion of next week. Highs in the 40s, lows in the 20s - nothing record-breaking, but colder than normal. We expect cold and wintry conditions to dominate the pattern through the end of January and into early February. Well be watching. -Josh Johnson, Doppler 12 StormVision Meteorologist Facebook: Josh Johnson WSFA Twitter: @JoshWeather joshjohnson@wsfa
