Question: The way to the Father is through Jesus. Is the way to - TopicsExpress

Question: The way to the Father is through Jesus. Is the way to Jesus through his mom or not? Answer by Fr. John Echert: Jesus is the Mediator between God and man. Without his death on the Cross, salvation would not be possible and only those joined to Christ can be saved. However, God himself has chosen to give Mary an ongoing, indispensable role in working out salvation for the world. Therefore we speak of her as Co-Mediatrix, not meaning she is equal to Christ but she plays an essential role, alongside her Son. Mary herself is redeemed by Christ by way of preservation from sin and not restoration from sin, as with the rest of us. So look at it this way: Grace comes from Christ but through the hands of Mary. And since she is our greatest intercessor, we have special access to Jesus through her as well. Thanks, Father Echert *** Questions and Answers - EWTN COPYRIGHT 2014
