Question: Why would a child be baptized twice? The child in question, John Goodman, was baptized in the Parish of St Andrews Oldham in the County of Lancaster -- both times. All information on the baptism records is identical except for the date and, of course, the entry number. Even the handwriting is the same. The only difference is on the first baptism record the letters P.B. are written in the margin. The baptisms occurred 28 February 1875 and 5 January 1876. Anyone have any ideas?
