Question for my fellow bakers-if a customer comes to you with a photo of a cake someone else created, but states they want that exact cake, do you: a) Suggest something similar in concept, but is unique to their event? b) Copy the cake because thats what the customer asked for? c) Make the cake and still give credit to the original creator if that information is available? I know this is a discussion that has been beat over the head repeatedly, but I saw a nationally known bakery (as in television fame bakery) copy a cake design from a baker overseas without any mention to them. So it got me thinking, when does it stop being personal and just business? Or does it ever stop?
