Question from one of our readers: I would like to know what everyone thinks of Restorative Dental Hygiene. I have been hearing a lot about universities offering a two-year course for hygienists to be able to prepare cavities and place or replace restorative fillings. Personally, I do not think this program is going somewhere especially with the job outlook and the hiring trend – Cavitron only, 30-minute prophys or must have at least 5 experience, etc... Now we’re doing restorations? What are your thoughts? Also, there is currently no licensure for this new program. Please leave your feedback/suggestions below.
