Questions: For all that it is very modern, the publishing world is still quite old fashioned. We all still love paper. Rewrites are done on paper and thats good because then an editor can say good things. Can check parts she likes, and write in the margin that something is funny or sad. Its usually the first professional reading an author gets and it is extremely important. Later, when the copyedit comes, an author is given a choice of paper or electronic. I do it electronically, which means I make myself add fewer snarky remarks. (Great repression on my part!) Sometimes I wonder how much paper a publishing house uses. I dont think Ive ever been near Random House that the office supply truck wasnt parked in front. Jude
