Quick update this morning to add isolated showers and slight chance for thunderstorms through mid day. Latest radar imagery is showing an area of showers and thunderstorms moving east/northeast across eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois at this time. Although this continues to drift towards northern Illinois, this area of precipitation continues to diminish. Nonetheless, a stronger area just moving across the Quad Cities does appear to have a better chance at staying together and primarily affect areas along and north of Interstate 88. So updated the forecast to include isolated showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms for northwest Illinois initially this morning, and then expanded this to remaining areas across northern Illinois through mid day to account for any possible lingering precipitation. Although thunder is possible, the weak nature of this precipitation will limit thunder chances.
