Quilt Challenge for next year! For Stretching Art and Tradition 17, pick an event or discovery from the year you were born that you would like to explore and create a quilt interpreting the theme From Whence I Came. If you are so moved, you can further challenge yourself, by restricting your event to the month and year in which you were born. You can choose to do more than 1 quilt, you can do two using different events from your birth year, or you could do a second piece as a tribute piece for the birth year of someone close to you. The year of the event must be represented numerically on the front of your quilt, with the size of the numbers being 3” tall. This aspect of your piece in addition to the fixed size will provide the continuity of the exhibit that we are attempting to duplicate from SAT16. The size of your piece must be 18” wide by 36” long. We are again challenging participants to honor SAT’s origins by identifying an area or technique of fiber arts that you would like to explore and incorporate that in your piece. for more information, visit stretchingartandtradition.org
