RAOK (giving and receiving) from our awesome member: My RAOK is a three part message, and honestly, it is more about the kindness that was bestowed upon me. I recently had a business trip to Seattle. First day I leave my hotel room, one of the maids greets me with a smile as shes cleaning another room and in the sweetest, most sincere voice says good morning, have a good day. I reply back with something equally as nice, but rush to the elevator to get to my appointment. The next day, Im leaving, rushing to check out and same lady, says same thing. As I wait for the elevator, I think, what a kind woman. I turn around and walk back to her and ask if she cleans all of the rooms on my floor. She says yes. I pull out a $20 and thank her for her kindness. She looks down at the $20 and starts crying and thanking me. I feel like it was nearly an insult to only give her money because the positive energy she passed to me was so amazing, but that $20 really changed her day. Fast forward to flying back to CA. Next morning, a neighbor whom Ive never met calls me. She says that she goes for morning walks in the neighborhood and found a package of checks (I just moved and ordered new ones) that had been ripped open with a couple of booklets taken out. She would bring what she found to my house. I can not explain how appreciative I am for both of these wonderful women. I have Angels around me. I only hope I can transmit as much good to others as these ladies have to me.
