RCMP commissioner Bob Paulson says the National War Memorial and Parliament Hill shooter was not on the watch list of potential high-risk travellers. The mounties have released security footage showing Michael Zehaf-Bibeau hi-jacking an MPs car, moments after shooting a soldier at the war memorial. He was able to drive the car right up to Parliament Hill and barge through the centre block front doors, armed with a long rifle. He shot one of the guards and fled down the hall of honour ... where he was eventually taken down. Heres what we know about Zehaf-Bibeau. He had some connections to other Canadian jihadists. And had recently applied for a passport ... hoping to travel to Syria. The 32 year old was staying in an Ottawa homeless shelter... having arrived from Vancouver three weeks ago. He had a criminal record for drug convictions ... Including crack cocaine. Three years ago he asked Vancouver police to send him to jail. Zehaf-Bibeau worshipped at a BC mosque .. where his behaviour raised some concerns ... but not enough to convince religious leaders to call police.
