RE -Ten reasons why Almakura will not win the 2015 election The attention of the Nasarawa state Government has been drawn to a publication entitle Ten reasons why Almakura will not win the 2015 election in page 23 of eggon news April to May publication. Ordinarily the state Government wouldnt have bordered to respond to this unguided publication but because the personality of the Governor was smeared in the publication and facts were misrepresented we found it necessary to set the records straight . Let me start by identifying some professional misconduct and bastardization of the journalism profession in the publication where people vomit all kinds of unguided statement against the personality of the Governor without due respect to the professional ethics and guiding principles of the profession . The proprietor of the eggon news paper Mr mathew Kuju is one person I respect in this profession whom I think knows his onions in this profession ,but for him to allow himself and his professional calling to be drag into tribal and religious sentiment when in the real sense as a journalist u neither belong to any of the existing tribe or religion is some thing to worry about The publication may have a pseudo name and Tagged advertorial to divert attention but the facts remains that the editor in chief Mr Mathew Kuju knows the implication of allowing such publication which will rather discredit him and his paper considering his pedigree in this noble profession of journalism. Let me critically examine the content of the write up authored by Mathew Kuju and pseudo by one Ayimom Watta where they have succeeded in promoting tribal and religious politics which is not healthy in our democracy today . In the introductory part of the write up , the writer pointed out that the level of insecurity in the state became high soon after Governor Almakura took over the mantle of leadership ignoring the historical background of crises in Nasarawa state since before the creation of the state . It may interest the writer to know that the first official assignment of Governor Almakura soon after he was sworn in was a security council meeting as a result of crises . No governor has put in effort at addressing uprising among communities like Governor Almakura did , he was the only governor who visited assakio and other crises areas in the height of the crises to pacify the disagreeing communities ,how then can a Governor show love for his people at the same time putting his life in danger . Has the writer forgotten the series of crises that engulfed Nasarawa state from 2001 where many lives were lost including that of a first class Emire of Azara and serving commissioner then mrs joys Katai , where was Governor Almakura then,was he in Government ? The writer also enumerated 10 reasons why Governor Almakura will not win 2015 election (1) his disaffection with senator Ewuga , may I remind the writer that Governor Almakura was the one who favored senator Ewuga by making him a senator else he was never elected or nominated as a CPC candidate to run for the election he got the senate seat on the plater of gold through the tireless effort of Governor Almakura . Has the writer also try to find out the 2011 Governorship election result in Nasarawa Eggon between PDP and CPC ? It may interest him to know that CPC led with less than 5000 votes so where is the overwhelming votes courtesy of Ewuga by the Eggon people. (2)the defection of his deputy from APC to PDP , it is an obvious fact that the deputy Governor Damishi Barau Luka never contributed any thing to the emergence of Governor Almakura because he was critically ill battling with his health ,it was done without him and this time around it will be achieve without him. The Deputy should be grateful to Governor Almakura for standing firm to make him who he is today despite the pressure to substitute him because of his ill health .(3)zoning of the Governorship seat to Akwanga zone , may be the writer thought we are in PDP , the APC is a new party with a new Template that has spent barely 3years in office , certainly after 8 years of Governor Almakura the party will zone the seat to Akwanga zone (4)taking side with the Fulani herdsmen ,governor Almakura is a father for all irrespective of ur tribe , religion creed and political affiliation , it is on record that the Governor visited crises area in Bassa , BAD , Ruttu , Burun Burun ,igah , Rukubi ,Agbashi Tiv community and presented relief materials to the people affected during the farmers herdsmen crises . How then has the Governor taking side with the fulanis ,the Governor cannot seat back to watch the military kill innocent fulanis who are domicile in keana for many years , the military would have gone to the hinterland to kill the insurgents , am sure the writer would not find it funny if the military launch a killing squad on any eggon man because of Ombatse Attack on innocent lives . May I correct an impression made by the writer that the judicial commission of enquiry indicted all Eggon people that is not true , the commission only indicted those found guilty in the course of their findings , it is clear that all Eggons are not Ombatse but all Ombatse are Eggons that is why the commission indicted all the sponsors ,financiers and practical members of the cult (5)non creation of job opportunities , now I understand that the writer is only being political and sentimental , but if he must know .Almakura has created a lot of employment opportunities through creation of NAGIS , revamping of ÜBE and MDG , establishment of youth empowerment programme as well as distribution of keke Taal to our teaming unemployed youths (6) non promotion and increment to civil servant . Thank God the writer was bold enough to commend Governor Almakura for being among the first Governors to implement the minimum wage and during the may day celebration the Governor approve the implementation of the promotion and increment as well as commissioning of the 500 housing unit to workers , even the NLC state chairman comrade Asoloko Maku shower praises to the Governor and pledged their total support to the administration of Almakura and even his re election bid come 2015. (7) Rash implementation of free education in the state . I think the writer is an enemy to the people of Nasarawa state else he wouldnt go as far as antagonizing the less privilege people whos children have been denied access to education due to lack of money to pay their children school fees until the timely intervention of Governor Almakura who has not only approve free education to all category of students from primary to post primary schools but have also been paying Weac and Neco fees of all students, how heartless some people can be to query this burden of paying school fees of all category of students by the Governor which will not only promote enrollment of children to both primary and post primary school but will also relief parents especially the less privilege in the society( 8)strong opposition by the PDP . This is funny as far as the Almakura Government is concern it does not have any tangible opposition from the PDP reason being that when Almakura took over power from PDP he does not have the police , and all othe security apparatus , no commissioners , special advisers and funds to make things happen but yet he took over through the peoples mandate , the campaign promises delivered by the Almakuras Government has again endeared the people of Nasarawa state to support the Governor in all ramifications so is the opposition the people or the PDP . (9) Almakuras romance with senator Abdullahi Adamu . Whether the PDP likes it or not former Governor Albdullahi Adamu is one politician that his name must be written in gold when u mention politicians in Nasarawa state and even above , the romance between Governor Almakura and Abdullahi Adamu is in good light because they are both progressive (10)APC is prone to violence : the writer did not truly did his home work very well or he is not well informed on the crises history of Nasarawa state else he wouldnt go ahead to expose his ignorance on the crises situation in Nasarawa state , the PDP rule the state for twelve years and all along it was crises crises which led to the gruesome murder of a first chief the sarkin Azara and a serving commissioner mrs joys Katai , the writer should dig well and find out how PDP Government was characterize with crises for the past twelve years.
