There is a proposed railway line between Hubballi and Ankola to fulfill this demand which is yet to start. 10.District capitals like Chikkamagaluru and Madikeri are not connected by a rail network. However a line linking Kadur in Chikkamagaluru district to Chikkamagaluru is underway. 11.The district of Kodagu has no railway track within it.However a survey is under progress to link Mysuru with Kushalnagar in Kodagu district. 12.Doubling of the track between Bengaluru and Mysuru (a line that receives very good patronage) is steadily progressing and a pending project since 1989. 13.Though the state has Konkan Railway within it; it has remained isolated with no trains running from other parts of the state to places that exist on the Konkan Railway. Source of Information abouve :Wikipedia . AND OUR MPS and MLAS are sleeping since Independence....Not even bothered to attend railway meetings.Neither bothered to improve the railway network in Karnataka or even provide suburban rail connectivity to Bangalore which is one among 6 metro cities in India and all other metro cities in India have suburban rail connectivity. I guess its high time Karnataka govt closes down railways and develops only roads & metro and buses as the mode of transport by constructing metro all over karnataka....And complete it after 400-500 yrs.....and buses to commute all over karnataka with traffic jams increasing all over !
