#REALTALK My girlfriend and I have been together for four years. When our relationship was young, we used to talk on phone for hours and text each other all day. We were so much in love and everything seemed great. I am 27 years old and she is 23. She is a Muslim, while I am a Christian. Recently, she told me a Muslim family friend had visited her mother, proposing that my girlfriend gets married to him. The man is a Muslim and has just returned from abroad. He has a house and has offered to pay her tuition fees at university. On the other hand, I live in a rented house and I am not well off, so I cannot match what their family friend is offering. I asked my girlfriend if she was comfortable staying with me, yet their family friend has a lot more to offer her. She said she has chosen me, but her family is against our relationship. My girlfriend’s mother and other relatives want her to marry the other man. My girlfriend wants to join university next year, but I cannot afford her tuition fees. She says she is puzzled on what to do. I am also confused because I love her so much and would not want to lose her. What should I do?
