REGIONAL ARTS FUND Regional Arts Fund available to support arts projects The Regional Arts Fund (RAF) is an Australian Government initiative supporting sustainable cultural development in regional and remote communities in Australia. The fund has an emphasis on building capacity in disadvantaged, very remote and Indigenous communities. In the Northern Territory the RAF is managed by the Northern Territory Government through Arts NT, Department of Arts and Museums. Territorians are now invited to apply for arts project funding for projects starting 1 January 2014 in one of the following categories offered through the RAF Community Grants: • RAF Creative Communities: Up to $20 000 per project to support applications for the development of: arts projects that extend knowledge, enable participation, and increase access to arts and cultural activities; innovative and creative ideas with a strong arts outcome, with a well-articulated social and/or economic impact in the community; and projects that foster new partnerships, relationships and networks with the potential to have long term arts and cultural development outcomes for the community. • RAF Activating Artists: Up to $20 000 per project to encourage applications that provide opportunities for: skills development of locally based artists; collaboration and skills development of local community members and/ or arts workers; and professional and skills development that builds capacity and provides access to new arts and cultural relationships and networks. For detailed information and to apply online visit arts.nt.gov.au Applicants who are considering applying and require advice in preparing their application, or are unable to use the application system due to access or technology issues, can make an appointment with an Arts Broker. Phone and WebEx meetings are also available for remote applicants. Contact Arts NT on 1800 678 237 or email [email protected]. Applications close 26 August 2013. Notifications will be given in December following the announcement by the Australian Government Minister for the Arts.
