REINVENTION: I thought you might appreciate this. Throughout the week, I jump rope in front of a grove of eucalyptus trees that surround a horse ranch. One of the trees had a traumatic incident, split and broke, leaving only a large shard of wood sticking out of the ground. This is literally right next to where I work out and I have watched this shard for 6 months. Everyday since it happened, I would watch as that piece of jutting wood fought to come back. one leaf, then the next, then a branch, then a bush, and in 6 months, you can see what happened. A brand new life for this tree. When it was 60 feet tall and proud of its life as a tree, with distinction among all the others and then, a travesty. But, the end of the story is one of reinvention, regrowth, and never looking back on the past of what was, but to the future of what will be. The tree is strong, hardy, filled with growth and new life. Just like each one of us, we get hurt, we are wounded, we have awful things happen to us, but all in the development for the betterment of you, your precious soul, and your life. This tree teaches us that even torn to shreds, cut to the quick, with barely anything left, that we can still grow, shine and become who we need to be. In actuality, maybe, the lightning strike, or weight that broke that tree, delivered a brand new life. Maybe the tree thought it was being killed during the incident and in fact, it was receiving a valuable gift of a reinvented life. Maybe, the tree could never have been so strong and hardy if it had lived out its previous life as a tree of stature. Now, it has the ability to rise to great heights with a much better foundation to support the growth and success of its journey to the sky. We are all like this. We are always going through these types of hardships, big and small, and our responsibility to ourselves is to trust the plan and believe it will turn out well, That we will be stronger and much better off in the end, even though we feel we have been mortally wounded. There is never a way back; what makes live so sweet. That is done, but there is a way forward, because when we fall, we dont fall back, we fall forward into exactly where we will thrive, grow, learn our custom made lessons, becoming who we aspire to be. This tree reminds me every single week, that each of us has many lives, many reinventions, and it strangely works out quite well. There is a lesson in all things big or small if you look. An unexamined life is not worth living. - Socrates. Namaste -
