REMINDER: The deadline is tomorrow for receipt of submissions to the Inquiry into the Trade and Foreign Investment (Protecting the Public Interest) Bill 2014. TAKE ACTION: If you have concerns with Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) provisions in free trade agreements and if you support protecting Australian laws by banning ISDS, this is a chance to put your position on record and let the Australian parliament know. Put simply, ISDS allows foreign investors to sue governments if their investments are ‘harmed by a national, state or local policy or law.
