On the night of May 11th in Simferopol (Crimea) the Russian Federal Security Service detained Ukrainian film director and screenwriter Oleg Sentsov. He is accused of planning a terrorist attack and within the next few days will be deported to Moscow, where according to Russian criminal law, he could face life imprisonment. Oleg Sentsov, born in Simferopol has no criminal record. He took an active part in the Euromaidan protests in Ukraine. Oleg Sentsov is the creator of the feature film «Gamer», mentioned by juries of a number of international film festivals, in particular Odessa IFF, Ukraine and Khanty-Mansiysk IFF, Russia. His films have been featured in prestigious independent film festivals such as Rotterdam IFF, GoEast IFF, Wiesbaden IFF, German and Molodist IFF, Kyiv Ukraine.
