REQUESTED RE-POST : The same principle applies to me as well as anyone else. Bad taste is bad taste and it simply defines the very meaning of an oxymoron to know people that are intelligent but when they open their mouths, literal nonsensical atrocities are heaved out into every direction without discernment to offense. Old, young , black ,white, male or female...I don’t understand nor will I condone the absence of good sense or lack of education as an excuse for bad manners. What is said in private is one thing. THAT IS WHY THEY CALL IT PRIVATE. When I go about showing how angry I am or how funny and smart I think I am, by using a public forum to vent, express or otherwise invite any type of retort, then I should at least display the ability to stand on whatever it is that I choose to reveal about whatever it is that I am standing on or about without having to resort to “whatever or what the f#$%%#C “. I know that the written word has so much power and I happen to have a great respect for using the power of words to empower myself AND others. The real issue here for me is allowing a low social register (language experience) to rule the future instead of learning from the past. While I have great respect for the first amendment (you know that I love America ), I absolutely unapologetically and emphatically abhor the ruin of public forum with intent. I am a great believer in the fact (statistically speaking ) that learning to express emotions and convey thoughts in an orderly manner is much more attractive, constructive and conducive to walking towards and embracing a brighter future. Words ( not unlike photographs ) should always be used to further a persons image, not tear it down. Hence the original thought I am saddened when I know someone has the ability to converse above their peers and yet...they don’t. Now absolutely rise above many of your peers as it pertains to seeking knowledge, debate and a desire to make sense of your surroundings. From what I can see...that is a quality that is in the minority as opposed to the majority of people these days. I am particularly fond of people that seek knowledge so it would stand to reason that I do enjoy Cyber Company. I am not judging anyone else’s journey. I do however have the right to speak about what I see evidenced without any coercion from outside sources in public. No. This was not an attack on anyone. Perhaps just a reminder to myself and anyone else that might take an interest that words are powerful. In the slightest passing, a word can make a difference. I have FORGOTTEN more harshness than some folks in their 30’s have learned. I had a 6th grade formal education. I STILL don’t know the full correct usage of this ( , ) –this (; ) and this ( : ) however… conversing with me in many settings, people would never know that. I taught myself to read phonetically BEFORE that term was ever created as a social term. When I was 17, I came into contact with a fellow in passing that made the remark about me “she is a beautiful girl but when she opened her mouth...trash fell out “ . I didnt realize that the man was looking for a representative that was intelligent, pretty and could grow with his company. I was just ...being ... uneducated and apparently not bright enough to have a bit of healthy shame so I ended up missing a wonderful opportunity. Quality of character oozes out of every orifice without shame , hesitation or our control. It wasnt until I was older that I understood this lesson…. Think more of yourself because you just never know who is watching for you to do well ! Perhaps I have become a bit of a fossil .
