RESULTS: norwoodcc.au/results/crit_27-01-2015.pdf 85 riders rode in the TDU hangover crit at the usual windy Victoria Park circuit. With the strong winds, in each grade, few riders were prepared to break away from the bunch with an initial break of 4 riders in B grade eventually being brought back ending in a bunch sprint. E grade, with only 4 riders were given the run of the circuit with Tim Beckingham the unusual most experienced, rolling off the front for the Giant Adelaide sprint and staying there for the finish. D grade saw the most experienced rider in Greg Ford, OM taking the preme and then backing it up for the finish by placing 3rd behind Allen and Tripodi. Sam Dragos timed his break well from C grade time trialing the last lap to win by about 100 metres. Merridy Pearce had to beat team mate Hannah Geelan to get her money back as the first woman. A grade had 18 starters but only 9 finishers. Justin Gassner won the sprint, continued in the break and did the last few laps with only Harry Carpenter for company. Justin timed the kick well to beat Carpenter by about 2 lengths. Oli Anderson worked hard in each break and scored a deserved third. Our last crit for this summer season at Victoria Park will be held next Tuesday, see you there.
