RICHARDS BAY SKI BOAT CLUB: UPDATE Case 1: Thanks to the lawyers intervention, as well as the help from another bias police officer at Richards bay SAPS, the female member eventually succeeded to open a criminal case against the clubs Vice Commodore. The case reference number is 641/10/2013. We are told that the Vice Commodore is now furious and is busy seeking support from other club members, to submit a motion of no confidence against the female member, in order to have her suspended as a member of the club, at the AGM on 16 November 2013. Mr Vice Commodore, please be informed that there is a case lodged against you, in this regard, yet you proceed to victimise and intimidate this female member, if it is true that you intend submitting a motion of no confidence against her, your actions can be viewed as interfering with the law and not allowing the law to follow its course. While this investigation is in process, any further future attempts to discredit the female member, by you and who ever else, may and can be used against you. Case 2: After lodging her complaint against the club’s Vice Commodore, Zander Veldman, one of the other problem committee members, apparently insulted and verbally abused the female member, in the presence of others, while on the club grounds. The female member was advised to also lodge a complaint to the committee, against Zander Veldmans behaviour. In order to keep face, the clubs committee decided to entertain the female member’s complaint and to call on 3 elderlys of the club to hear this 2nd complaint that was lodged, against Zander Veldman. Now listen to this; We are told that the Commodore informed the club’s committee members, at last Tuesday’s committee meeting, that there is nothing to worry, since he will brief the 3 elderlys that this matter is not a club matter, but a personal matter between the female member and Zander Veldman. This behaviour clearly already shows interference in a disciplinary process, by the Club’s Commodore. In both cases 1 & 2 nothing happened so far to the Vice Commodore and Zander Veldman. Not one of them had so far been suspended, pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing. In each of these cases, the Commodore is of the view that these are not club matters, but private matters. In both cases it became clear that the Commodore covers for his committee members, each time presenting the view that the incidents do not reflect a club matter, yet conveniently forgets that various other club members had previously been suspended from the club, for the same reasons. Things are just getting worse and worse at this club and all fingers point to 4 committee members that are to blame for everything. Fortunately one of the problem committee members, the Vice Commodore, tendered his resignation from the committee a week ago. Now it is only 3 problem committee members remaining. We also have seen 2 other committee members resigning in the past two months, since they chose not to further be associated with the remaining committee members.
