RISE AND SHINE FACEFAM, CHRISTMAS IS UPON US Good morning everyone. A check out the kitchen window looked so warm and inviting I had to take a short walk outside. It is sunny for the first time in three days, the flock is out and about, checking out some snacks that santa must have left, the cows and sheep are grazing peaceably. The rest of the two legged creatures are still nestled in beds. Me? I slept in all the way till 8 am!!!! Most evenings here on crazy farm are wonderful, even great, but sometimes there is one that far surpasses. Home from paycheck, wrapped some presents and then Alex and I left for her performance at Mt Lena United methodist church. The atmosphere in this wonderful little church was charged with love. Everyone greeted everyone, friend or stranger. It brought me right back to my childhood, We only stayed for about half of the service, until after Alex sang. In that half hour, singing the old hymns, listening to Alex beside me singing so beautifully. It was magic. I know I heard my mothers voice in my ear, singing O little Town of Bethlehem. Alex did a great job with O Holy Night, and everyone enjoyed watching a small boy, probably 2 years old, dancing and swaying to her music. Priceless. Then as is our custom, a trip across town to Clopper Rd. to see if the lambs had arrived. They havent but mommas looked great in their stable setting. I cant tell you how many years we have driven by to see the display. Home to steak and japanese salad, then sitting all of us together opening our tokens and seeing how very well we know each other. Kate got mostly hunting and cooking gear. Alex, hair accessories, theater anthologies, a backpack. Rick a warm flannal shirt and some funny star trek toys. I opened a blackboard chicken, tea, and the cutest pair of footed pajamas with betty boop on them. Oh and a meat grinder for the farm. By far the greatest gift is in the first photo shared. Family, be it big, small, close or far away, it is the only true gift of Christmas. I wish everyone today could be with all of their loved ones. If they are not present, let their memory be a present to you. Have a peaceful day, smile, reflect and as always..... Keep calm and Merry Christmas
