ROH News... B.J. Whitmer announced on twitter that he would be getting out of hospital today. PILEDRIVER - a move where a wrestler grabs his opponent, turns him upside down & drops into a sitting or kneeling position, driving the opponent head first into the mat. In a properly executed piledriver, the opponents head should not touch the ground. When the head is not in the proper position, serious injury or even paralysis can occur. In 1997 Owen Hart delivered a piledriver to Steve Austin resulting in Austin getting a broken neck. The Piledriver was banned in WWE in 2000 unless special permission was granted. The Undertaker still uses this move as his finisher. The Piledriver is also banned in many other promotions & cities. It is an automatic disqualification in professional wrestling matches held in Memphis. In some promotions in the UK, using the Piledriver will result in a disqualification & a fine. In Mexico it is an automatic disqualification. ~Sharon~
