RSP Arrest: On 10/21/2013, police charged Bobby Samples, age 26, no permanent address, Richmond, in connection with stolen vehicles and vehicle parts. On 10/16/2013, the owner of Auto Medic, Estill Avenue, reported that all four wheels were stolen off a Chevrolet 1500 pick-up on his lot during the overnight hours. The wheels were described as after-market rims that looked like a star. Two custom headlights were also stolen. The truck’s grill and tailgate were damaged during the theft. Estimated damage: $1000.00 Estimated cost of the headlights, wheels, and tires: $1300.00 On 10/17/2013, a resident in 300 block of Mt. Rushmore Drive reported that black 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with a cowl induction hood, was stolen during the overnight hours. The victim reported the truck to be in excellent condition with a new coat of black paint, chrome wheels, and chrome mirrors. Estimated value of the truck: $7000.00 On 10/19/2013, KSP recovered the stolen truck at a residence on Bowman Road, Berea, and arrested the resident, Kayla Young, age 22, for Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000. Several parts had been removed from the truck. On 10/21/2013, Berea PD detained Samples after learning that he was attempting sell several auto parts that had been removed from the recovered pickup truck. Samples was transported to RPD along with the stolen parts. It was ultimately determined that Samples was in possession of 15 various parts (chrome door handles, chrome grill; side mirrors; light covers, etc.) that had been removed from the stolen pickup truck. In addition, he was in possession of the two headlights that had been stolen from the vehicle at Auto Medic on 10/16/2013. Samples was charged for the following offenses and lodged in the MCDC: - Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000 - Receiving Stolen Property Under $500 (2735/459-2747/423)
