RULES 1. “Spelling Sea” will be an oral competition. 2. Only British spelling will be accepted. 3. Each team may ask the pronouncer to repeat the word, definition, sentence, or part of speech. 4. Speller must spell the word only after consulting with the team members. 5. The speller must spell the word before he begins spelling it. 6. The team members will not be permitted to prompt the speller once he begins spelling the words. 7. After the pronouncer gives the team a word they have 40sec, 20 sec to ask questions about the word, 20sec to spell the word. 8. Having started to spell a word if the speller has any doubt he may stop and retrace the spelling with in the time limit. 9. Once he has completely spelt the word, he will not be allowed to retrace it. 10. The decision of the judges will be final.
