RULES OF THE GROUP: Consideration for other people There are many hundreds of animal groups on FB. I am a member of at least 30. I get tired of seeing emotive posts and rants about the situation. I don’t want to read poetry or see photos of burning candles lit as a vigil for the dogs. I want to help. Talking randomly and posting poetry doesn’t help. We should use our energies more wisely. Despite our subject matter being serious and at times very upsetting and emotive, we want to keep this group a useful place to meet and share information. It is not a place to vent your frustration at any given situation. Swearing and emotive language, including the use of CAPITALS and excessive exclamation marks/emoticons is not allowed. This group aims to conduct itself in a calm manner. Please avoid confrontation at all times and remember that people whose first language is not English, can sometimes be misinterpreted. Videos and upsetting photographs The posting of videos and upsetting photographs will not be allowed on any thread. If you have something you wish us to all to see, please send it to us and we shall post it in ‘Files’ with a description of what it contains. Some people are fully aware of the situation and desperately want to help, but are put off by videos showing cruelty. If anyone wishes to view them, then that will be a choice they make. Any such posts will be removed without explanation. Spam and inappropriate posts We have two admins and will do our best to keep out spam and other unwanted posts. If you see a post that doesn’t belong within the scope of the group, please mark it as such. You will find a down-arrow at the top right of each post. Click the arrow to get a pop-up menu whose last entry is Report/mark as spam. This will flag the problem to the next administrator that visits the group making the spam easier to find and remove, along with the spammer. Watch your FB apps Some Facebook users give permission to Facebook app (apps) to post content on their behalf. This content will undoubtedly be inappropriate for the group, so if you have given such permission, even unwittingly, to an app which has posted in the group, your post will be removed and you will be notified. Should this happen a second time, you will be blocked. Self Promotion We will not allow self- promotion of any kind in this group. Whilst we appreciate many of you are in ‘Rescue’, you have your own groups and pages for fundraising and promotion. Please use them instead.
