Raanjhana.....not the common run-of-the-mill love story where the hero falls in love with a girl, she falls in love with some other guy. Finally she realises her mistake god knows how and comes back to the hero. If thats what u want u will only enjoy the first half of the first half. After 45 mins the story just does a drifting thru the curves. The second half takes even stranger turn, and transfers you to a different milieu. Though many have said tat the second half doesnt work, though with its problems it was a beautiful ending to the story, which i ofcourse the normal audience might not accept. What starts as a neighbour next door love story, becomes a hate-revenge story and towards the end tries to be Epic. Loved the effort from the director. Dhanush has done a commendable job. So has Sonam in her one of the best roles she will ever do. Abhay looks dashing. Loved the supporting performances of the two friends, performed by Swara and Ayub. My biggest relief was A R Rahmans music, which seemed dud in the album except for a couple of songs, really works magic in the movie. Clearly you know the greatness of Rahman, who works for the movie as a whole. This might not be a movie you wanna watch again, but it is one of those you will not forget easily. I rate it as much as 8.5/10 for all the efforts in all depts, and for not being a regular fare.
