Rain Will Be The Main Form Of Precipitation Through Tonight. By Sunday Morning, Cold Air Could Move In And Mix Some Of The Rain With Snow & Sleet Across The Northern Half Sunday Afternoon & Night. Currently. Snow & Sleet Accumulations Are Expected To Be Less Than 1 Inch In Central Arkansas. Snowfall Accumulations Of 2-4 Inches Are Possible North & West Of Mena To Danville Where A Winter Storm Watch Is In Effect. Locally Higher Amounts Are Possible In The Ouachitas And In Higher Elevations. Some Of The Snow Could Be Convectively Enhanced And This Might Contribute To The Higher Amounts. Precipitation Should End By Late Sunday Night. After A Brief Break On Monday, A Somewhat Stronger System Will Bring Freezing Rain & Sleet Showers Back To Much Of The Northern Half Of Arkansas Late Monday Night through Tuesday Morning. The Best Chances For Freezing Rain & Sleet Look To Be In North Of Ft. Smith, Clinton, Heber Springs, Batesville & Jonesboro. Farther South, Rain, Sleet & Snow Could Mix At Times As Far South As Little Rock, With Rain Becoming More Dominant As You Approach Little Rock. Farther South, South Of Little Rock, There Could Be a Changeover To Light Wintry Precipitation Towards The End Of The Event. It Is Still Too Early To Determine Exact Icing Amounts. The Track Of The Storm System Is Still Uncertain And The Track, Along With Temperatures Will Be The Major Decision Makers. As With Most Winter Events, This Is A Developing Situation And Forecasts Are Likely To Change. Stay Tuned To Your Favorite Weather Outlets For The Latest. - D.Poole
