Raised Right George Washington said “All I am I owe to my Mother.” I can easily relate to that statement. I was raised by my mother and grandmother with love and discipline to love, respect, and obey THE LORD GOD first; and then to love and respect my wife and children and our country. The training and discipline that they gave me has served me well for many years. As parents we have been given the honor and great responsibility of raising our children, teaching them [not just with our words] by our example the values that GOD’S Word instills in us when we devote ourselves to acquiring the wisdom and knowledge that it contains for living lives that are dedicated to learning and then applying HIS unchanging values in a world that is constantly changing [and usually not for the better]. Many of the supposedly knowledgeable authorities in current society try to say that the values and morals that we learn when we study GOD’S word are “Old Fashioned”; but they are the ones that are out of touch with reality. GOD’S knowledge far surpasses any teachings by the world’s alleged experts. I would rather live a life based on GOD’S ways than to spend eternity separated from HIM because I obeyed the authorities of an increasingly valueless society. The values we learn by studying GOD’S Word are timeless. Parents, don’t be too hard on your children; but raise them properly. Teach them with discipline and instruct them with love in the ways of THE LORD. - [Ephesians 6:4] Today as I pray; I will seek GOD’S wisdom to acquire, apply, and share HIS ageless values in a world that has values that are lacking in moral correctness. I will also pray for those in positions of authority and influence asking that they would become receptive to godly instruction in the true Word of GOD so that our country might once again be a shining light on a hill that leads others to everlasting life with GOD in glory.
