Ram Cam II u asked : How do I understand Matt. 16:19 with regards Isaiah 22:22? what about Matt. 23:2-4? About Matt. 16:19 Matt. 16:19 I will give you the keys to the kingdom from heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will have been prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will have been permitted in heaven.” with regard to Isaiah 22:22 “I’ll place on his shoulder the key to the house of David—what he opens, no one will shut, and what he shuts, no one will open. About the key, for me only Jesus has the only key of heaven and hell, see Matt. 16:19, James 4:12, Rev.1:18 and the message of the Lord to the Philadelphia on Rev. 3:7 proves it Rev.3:7 The one who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens a door that no one can shut, and who shuts a door that no one can open.- is none other than Jesus, the lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. (James 4:12) Jesus Christ never communicated the power to bind & to loose to any of His apostles, especially to Peter nor he ever assume any such power, or to pretend to exercise it, it is the marked of the ANTICHRIST, (2 Thess.2:4), who places himself in His seat and shows himself as if he was God. But this is to be understood only in a doctrinal way by preaching the full & free remission of sins, through the blood of Christ, according to the riches of His grace, if people would repent of their sins and believe in Christ, all their sins will be forgiven for Christs sake. And about Matthew 23:2-4 2 “The scribes and the Pharisees administer the authority of Moses, 3 So do whatever they tell you and follow it, but stop doing what they do, because they don’t do what they say. 4 They tie up burdens that are heavy and unbearable and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they refuse to lift a finger to remove them. Jesus denounces the Scribes & the Pharisees because they put up too much burdens on peoples shoulders, He asked the people to obey Moses rules but dont follow their (Pharisees & Scribes) example because they dont do what they say. Thats why Jesus clarified the law on Matt. 5:17-19 but warned about following the examples of Pharisees. (Matt.5:20)
