Rant Alert: My mama always taught me that we NEVER hate anyone or anything.....having said that, I EXTREMELY DISLIKE insurance companies. We pay and pay every month - exorbitant amounts - and when we need them, they fall back on their SELF-IMPOSED rules. They have no idea what havoc they wreak upon the average policy holder nor does it seem they care.... My oldest daughter MUST have her medication EVERY day at a certain time or she experiences debilitating pain....well, she went to pick up her prescription just now (she took her last dose this morning and needs one tonight) and was informed that our insurance company wants us to get her meds via mail order rather than Walgreens as we have done in the past.....No notice from the insurance company, just a sweeping declaration....And if we went ahead and got the script filled at Walgreens, it would not be covered and cost $170 for one refill....of course, she came back panicked imagining the pain she was about to experience.....a call to the pharmacy got us 5 pills (at no cost - God bless my pharmacist at Walgreens) to get us through until we can get this straightened out, but I can assure you, my insurance company will be getting a very firm call tomorrow morning.....this Mama Bears POd to say the least.....NOONE messes with one of my cubs.....
