Rant for the evening: homework for both of my children over the winter break. I think its ridiculous to expect kids to do homework over break. Thats not a break by no means! Half of it, I have to really look at and try to figure out and thats for my 5th grader. My kindergartner actually is expected to write about a movie he watched, include the setting, main characters, problem, and solution to the plot. Really? Are you kidding me? Arent kids supposed to be kids?? Not brainwashed stone statues. Seriously makes me sick to the point I would rather just homeschool. I dont recall having those kind of expectations placed on me at those ages. I played in the mud, rolled in the grass, and played with my pets. Where did things change soooo drastically?Pretty sure our kids curriculum is screwed way up! Rant is now on pause, more to come later Im sure lol!
