Rant of the Day: It is interesting how something that has been a part of the fabric of our society, most of our natural lives, is being challenged as wrong ... the phrase "under God" that has been a part of the Pledge of Allegiance for nearly 60 years is under attack. The courts ruled in 1943 that it is illegal to force someone to recite the Pledge of Allegiance; this apparently isn’t good enough for some. Abstinence from saying the pledge isn’t good enough. It seems there is a fundamental shift in this country to remove anything related to God ... interesting. I am sure that it won’t be long before any reference of God in our society is deemed discriminatory or classified as some other sort of evil. Regardless of whether you believe in God or not or regardless of your flavor of religion, it would seem that the usage of “under God” is a part of our nation’s history. What say you?
