Rathje Update: Thomas McInerney Lieutenant General, US Air Force (Ret) Endorses Steve Rathje for US Congressman Dear Steve: I am delighted and proud to lend my voice and my endorsement to your candidacy for US Congressman from the great state of Iowa, to represent the great folks of the 1st Congressional District. Over my long career in the Air Force and my extensive work since my retirement, I have always stood for a strong military, security for our citizens, the “rule of law,” and the strict interpretation of our Constitution. I am certain that you too hold these standards as the bedrock of your life and therefore your candidacy in this important time in our country and Iowa’s history. I trust that you will bring the necessary leadership, and sound economic understanding and experience that is vitally needed for “WE THE PEOPLE” of the 1st congressional district in Iowa. We are in dire need of principled public servants who will put loyalty to the Constitution and the principles that guarantee our freedom ahead of party affiliation, money, and special interests.
