Reaching for ‘The World’s End’ Ashley Jo Will “The World’s End” is a British science-fiction comedy that is quite fun to watch. This film stars Simon Pegg as well as many other familiar faces from director Edward Wright’s other films “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz.” Having enjoyed those two comedies, I anticipated the release of “The World’s End” in theaters to partake in lots of laughter. Officially released in a small amount of theaters in the United States on Aug. 23, 2013, “The World’s End” spread to more places over time. When I asked the local movie theater if it was receiving “The World’s End” soon, they said, “Hi, Ashley! Unfortunately, the distributor of ‘The World’s End’ only have about 1,200 prints to share around the country. This leaves out the entire state of Wyoming during its initial run, since we have such a small population. However, if the film does well enough in its first few weeks, some of those prints may (hopefully!) become available to us in about a month.
