Read this again: Sam Onyekere, wrote from USA INYI USA DONATES BOOKS TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN OJI RIVER. Inyi Cooperative Union USA Inc. a none profit organization of Inyi indigents in Pennsylvania, USA donated books and learning materials to six primary schools in Oji River Local Government, Enugu State. Inyi Cooperative Union USA Inc.,Pennsylvania branch is under the umbrella Inyi USA, the first only Inyi indigents organization established outside Nigeria, especially in USA. The primary purpose of the organization is to promote Rural Development, Health, Education and Cooperative Farming in Inyi. The founding members of the organization include, Samuel Onyekere, Sidney Mbah, Micheal Madu, Godwin Onyekere, Elias Obiakor, Emmanuel Onyekere and Kenneth Madu. The following primary schools received 300 books each: Central School Amankwo Inyi, Central School Nkwere Inyi, Central School Obune Inyi, Central School Umuagu, Community School and Unity Primary School Umuagu Inyi. More primary schools are expected to benefit from the program in near future. The books were presented to the schools by His Royal Highness, Igwe I.G of Agbada Inyi and Igwe Edwin Aleke of Umuagu Inyi at Central School Umuagu. Obum Anolefo was the chairman. Roy Mbah and Chris Ilo coordinated the event. Rev. Tasie said the opening prayer. Both present and past teachers from the six recipient schools, including Parent Association members and Oji River Local Government were present at the event.Students from the six primary schools, entertained the audience with drills and matching band.Refreshments were presented at the end of occasion. In addition to book donation, Inyi USA has employed qualified teachers to augment the shortage of teachers in Inyi Primary Schools. The teachers were employed from the community and paid by Inyi USA. through Parent Teacher Association. The organization is building mini library and resource center in each school. The children would be able to spend sometime each day at the center exploring any books of interest to them. Sam Onyekere, USA.
