Read todays devotion from The Word Speaks a daily devotional based on the sayings of Jesus. To All Nations (Matthew 24:14) Jesus said to the believers, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). With great intensity, the early church spread the gospel. The Bible records its spread to the west, and evidence in history outlines the expansion to the east and south. God’s good news surged to the ends of the earth. When Jesus outlined the signs of the end times, he said, “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Jesus came to save everyone, and believers are charged with a mission to bring that good news message to the whole world. With electronic communications today and the missionaries sent far and wide through the ages, every nation must have heard the gospel at one time or another. The Lord could return in glory at any time! Until his return, we are to proclaim the message to the ends of the earth. Through the missionaries we send and the ways in which we support the various forms of preaching and teaching God’s Word, Jesus is being shared. You can help by telling someone of God’s forgiveness and peace through electronic means or in a conversation with a friend. You might even find an opportunity to tell a complete stranger about Jesus. The power of God’s Word working through the human contacts we make is profound. God’s people will proclaim the Savior and his cross until that moment when he returns to take us all home.
