Reader Question: "I am 18 years old and have just started my 2nd year of college. College REALLY stresses me out (I tend to come home crying), and my deepest desire is to be a wife and homemaker. A year ago I met and feel very much in love with a very strong Christian man with the same traditional beliefs concerning homemaking that I have, and we wish to marry as soon as possible. However, my father (who is unsaved) and my mother (a career woman) wish for me to complete 5 years of college and will not allow me to marry until then. Although they are paying for some of my college, they are not paying for all of it, and I’m not sure that I want to add debt to the debt my future husband will have with his master’s degree he is working on (so far he has completed his associate’s degree), especially when I want my job to be a homemaker. Should I continue with my college degree and wait 4 more years to marry as my parents wish? Or should I drop out and get a job to help support and build a household of my own as my future husband continues to finish his college degree? I want to honor my parents, but I ultimately want to do what God wants me to do. I’m just not sure what exactly that is. Any advice is very much appreciated!" ~Anonymous
