Reader question: Hello! Thanks for all the great articles and discussions, they are so helpful! I have an issue that I am trying to figure out and havent had a lot of luck with internet searches etc. It looks like my 9 y.o. daughter will need some kind of orthodontic treatment, if not immediately then in a few years, and I will be taking her for a consult soon. I am concerned about potential toxins/health risks involved in treatment. I dont like the idea of even BPA free plastic in her mouth, but have read concerns about heavy metals in the old fashioned braces, as well as the risks of having numerous x-rays. We dont have a natural orthodontist near us, so I am going to need to steer whoever we pick towards the safest choices. Opinions from anyone who has had better results with research or actual experience would be appreciated! If you have a chance to post,I would be most grateful!
