Reading - Joshua 1:1-17, 2:7:15-21 Every year provides us with new hopes and dreams, and even the opportunity to re - orientate or accept the things you do not complied with! We all need some time, the opportunity to begin again, maybe because quite simply, everything that we had a long time ago what we need to rectify it, change, transform, remake. A new year means a new opportunity to change. In the movie the Gladiator there is a phrase ; there is no wrestling without suffering, no gains without effort, no victories without sacrifice . No doubts that, in order to achieve things we must sacrifice others, but there is always to fight with determination. In this passage from Joshua, God makes us the same offer: Be strong and courageous: In this new year 2015 in order to achieve major challenges, and get opportunities for new Be strong and courageous: 1. - facing a problem do not put down your arms, listen to the voice of God, My servant Moses has died. Now, therefore, get up and acquire the Jordan... 2. - God is a God promises, what the starts in you, he will finish. 3. - a bad decision can take you down a wrong path as it will change your life style and even affect those who are you around. 4. - rest in the power and the wisdom of God, not yours. 5. - allow the continuous presence and permanence of God to give you courage. 6. - know that the promises of God will always to be with you and will remove fear and hopelessness 7. - I will not leave you nor forsake you; This is the assurance that God gives to His children in order to achieve success. 8. - Do not confront things quickly put effort and talent Be Strong and Courageous 9. - Take responsibility for everything you do with strength and character! 10. - taking on tasks with the seriousness and maturity and with effort without fearing anyone! 11. - do not give up , do not retreat but face the obstacles that youll get over this new year and dare and be courageous 12. - for every task you receive give it the importance that they deserve Be strong and courageous! 13. - do not forget that without God you will not have any success, but with God you will be successful and he will ask of you to Be strong and courageous! 14. - do not let the injustice contamine your house. Ask yourself this question: how many things do we have hidden in our lives? How many curses have we brought into our homes? How many bars of gold and idols do we have in our homes and yet we dare to claim that Gods glory is not operating in our lives? Examples of spoken curses: * words used to be dishonest and even offensive against others and you do not care about hurting their feelings. *Negative words: people that always declare defeat in poverty, sickness, self- pity, they feel forgotten by God, and they live in agony. These declarations are curses that we bring to our life without even thinking about it. * friends that are toxic, or people who come to your home: who just come to you because they have good gossip, or when you have need to break someones spirit or even be selfish. Instead of being an encourager. * religiosity: when we believe that we have been transformed and converted to Christ but the only thing that we do is to come to worship on Sunday, and the rest of the week we continue with our normal lives as if God is not what concerns us. The rest of the week you dont pray, you dont fast, there is not a moment of praise, you dont make time to journal or just be in the presence of God. * Religion is not Christianity and false appearances is not conversion. * lack of love for each other: Conclusion * its time to start making wise decisions which will benefit you , and not destroy you long term * lets get rid of the curses and the little foxes in our lives and our homes and lets allow God to break us each day as the bone setter forms the vessels. * allow Him to mold you, the Lord will transform you into a precious vessel of honor. * Give God control of everything this coming year, and let him love you so that he may give you new opportunities to live for him. * just do as Joshua Be strong and courageous! * allow God to work in you, but do what you have to do always obeying God. Happy and very blessed year 2015! Pastor Franklin Pazos
