Reading, Pa., to Replace Sad Christmas Tree The 50-foot Christmas tree decorating downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, is supposed to spread holiday cheer, but instead its making some residents unhappy. The puny Norwood spruce has lost many of its branches, even though its not yet December, and its sparsely decorated with a simple string of lights. It looks sad, City Council President Francis Acosta said. Everybodys calling it a Charlie Brown tree. I think its the perfect tree, and should stay as is. It reflects what our country has become over the last 30 years. Time was the government had enough money for such things.
