Reading this morning from Matthew 16-18 Matthew 16:23-24 But he - TopicsExpress

Reading this morning from Matthew 16-18 Matthew 16:23-24 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. (24) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. What offended the Lord? Peter had loved the things of men more than the things of God. Oh how He must be offended with most of what we do as our concentration is on our own pleasures and own stuff instead of upon those eternal things of God. No wonder the Lord tells us to take up our cross and follow Him. The cross was an executioners tool for putting to death the offender. We should continually be putting those things that offend the Lord on our cross and getting them out of our lives.
