Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Angel di Maria is close to joining Manchester United, according to Manchester Evening News. The Argentinian international is close to agreeing terms with United, however, the one remaining stumbling block over the move is the proposed fee. Real are thought to have upped their demands from £60m to £75m, though it is believed that the two parties will eventually come to an agreement. Ancelotti confirmed that di Maria was thanked by Real for his services and they agreed to sell the player because he wanted to move on. He said: Di Maria has not trained. Its not yet official, but he is close to a transfer. We thanked him for what he has done for us. Real Madrid has done everything possible to keep di Maria. He has decided something else. Good luck to him. The Italian also moved to confirm that Arsenal and Chelsea target Sami Khedira was staying on at the Bernabeu. The two London clubs have been fighting for the players signature since the close season and the German World Cup winner was expected to leave since his contract is up next summer. However, Ancelotti now claims that a move away is not happening. He continued: Khedira is happy here and he is staying. The matter is resolved and he stays at Real Madrid.
