Fairminded. 7. Available. 8. Patient. 9. Loving. 10. Respectful. Like a Mother , a father plays a vital role in the life of a child. Every father must want to become a good one in the eyes of their children. The role of father is very important in every body’s life because a child is very much influenced by his father. Simply becoming a father is not sufficient it is also necessary to become a good father. And for becoming a good father one requires to have some specific qualities. Now a question arises that what are the skills necessary to be a good father or if a person wants to be a good father what should he do? If you intend to become a good father it is very necessary for you to produce so many qualities in your personality a few of them are as under: ● Love your kids very much ● ► Your children are good asset for you so love them very much. Give all type of protection and provide all type of facilities as much as you can. A good father is someone who is there when his child needs him and who puts his child’s needs above his own. It is an important responsibility of father to teach moral and ethical guidance to his children and for this purpose, it is very essential for him to have deep knowledge about different matters. He must deeply know which things are useful and which are destructive.If father does not have sufficient knowledge about different maters how will he guide his children? So it is very essential for every father to have deep and accurate knowledge regarding so many things so that he may guide his children appropriately. ● Fulfill the requirements of your children ● ► It is an essential duty of father to fulfill all the requirements of the children regarding his/her study, foodstuff, clothing etc. Besides this, you must spend some quality time with your children, you should pay attention to them and you should communicate with them friendly. ● Accomplish the wishes of your kids ● ► It is also an essential duty of father to accomplish the wishes of his children but it does not mean that he must fulfill all kind of wishes desired by children. The children may ask for some unfair or unlawful things. So it is the duty of father to review that whether the demand of the children is fair or not. If the demand is fair it should be fulfilled but if the desired demand is unfair it should not be fulfilled. It is the most important quality of a good father to have capability of making good decisions. For this purpose it is his duty to study so many useful things to enhance his knowledge and in addition he also must make a habit to observe different types of situations very deeply.There are many problems in human life. A good father must know how to handle the various situations perfectly. ● Set a good example for your child ● ► The character of mother as well as a father plays a vital role in a child’s life, so it is very important for the father to be a positive and excellent role model for his child. We should not forget that the child observes and learns so many things from BOTH parents, for instance the fathers habits, manners, dealings with others will all certainly affect the child’s character. So if you want to become a perfect father it is very essential for you to set a good example for your child. The best way to teach good manner is to show an example with your deeds. If you want to tell your kid to speak gently, first of all it is your responsibility to adopt this manner and to speak gently. If you do not speak in gently way and advice your children to speak politely they will never obey. Similarly if you wish that your children should avoid telling a lie first of all you will have to avoid this bad habit otherwise your advice will be ineffective. ● Spend quality time with your kids ● In the initial years of childhood the child needs both parents more. It is very important for every parent to spend quality time with their children. A good father spends quality time with his kids. But in most of the families the father thinks that as long as he fulfills the responsibility of providing for the expenses of the kids he is doing a good job as a father. No doubt, its also very important, but besides this it is also very important that you must spend some quality time with your children.If you are not spending your time with your kids it means you are leaving the opportunity to create an emotional bonding with your kids and it is not good. So being a good father it is your duty to spend some quality time with your children on daily basis. ● Adopt right way of dealing ● A good father is compassionate and gentle but firm in discipline. When a child does something wrong or want to do something wrong explain the reasons to the child patiently without being too harsh on the child. Likewise when a child displays skills or does good deeds it is also essential that you should show appreciation and encouragement to him/her. A good father should also reprove or show condemnation when he feels that the child has done something wrong. Being a good father it is your responsibility to teach your children what is right and what is wrong. If you spend time with your children you would be come to know their strength or weaknesses. If you see that your child is doing something wrong, it is not necessary to beat him or her. In spite of beating you should teach in a loving manner to your children.You can be tough and firm with your son or daughter without being violent. It is very necessary to mention here that whenever you want to teach something to your children do not use a harsh tone, don’t start to scold them. Be patient, watch their activities and rectify their mistakes in a very positive way. ==> Applying these qualities you and your family will feel a great positive change in your home. ● Be a good listener for your children ● We should always keep in mind that a good parent is also a good listener. good parents give attention to their children and patiently listens to them when they talk and give them excellence advice. This helps the child to open up and share problems and not be enigmatic about what he/she is doing. .....Conclusion...... Parents should put in their best efforts to ensure that their children become true inheritors of Islam, and to keep Islam alive in their lives and their families’ lives after their death. Parental efforts are, therefore, quite instrumental in inculcating the love of Islam and the desire to worship in the right manner. Parents should also recognize that raising good children can be a source of their salvation in the hereafter. This is because if parents raise good Allah-fearing children, those children can constantly pray to ALLAH for their parents after their death.
