Really enjoyable weekend hosting the BDO British Internationals in Halifax... a superb atmosphere amongst the players and officials of England, Scotland and Wales. It was of course far more emotionally charged than usual, due to the recent loss of Bryan Whyte... I am proud to have been the voice for tributes made to him on what would have been his international debut for Scotland. We know how much this weekend meant to the Scottish Darts Association, and I think that both England and Wales did them proud this weekend with their heartfelt support. Huge congratulations go to team England on their clean sweep of girls, boys, ladies and mens titles. I must also congratulate the EDO directors and officials on another excellent event. Special mentions to my own colleagues... on stage I was joined by Martin Moore and Antony Dundas, ensuring all three nations were represented on the mic. Terrific work from two great referees. Unfortunately though we were not joined on stage by Fallon Sherrock and Rab Butler who were both due be in Halifax but unable to attend due to ill health. Get well soon my friends! On a personal note, added bonus for me having Mrs Ashdown and Mrs Ashdown in attendance - thank you for your support x
