Really enjoyed BREAKING BAD star Bryan Cranston as LBJ in Broadway play ALL THE WAY today, a Wednesday matinee day. I was no fan of LBJ but he did a lot of decent things, such as the War on Poverty, the Great Society, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. A landslide winner in 1964, he was forced not to accept a second term by widespread disenchantment with the Vietnam War, which he expanded. Cranston really captured Johnsons arm-twisting tactics, paranoia, willingness to do anything to keep himself in power, and his crude, often boisterous personality. He got a well-deserved and lengthy standing ovation.
