Really getting fed up with my doctor. Back in April I called his office because I was having chest pains, they set me up with one of the partners, which was fine. Saw her, got sent to Vanderbilt Heart Clinic, took the strss test, all was good. Then a week later, I see my regular doc for my bi-annual checkup. Two weeks later I get his bill, minus what Medicare and my gap insurance paid. I check the bills and find not only has the partner doc charged me just over $300.00 for the visit, but my doc also charged me for the same thing. I think, oh, someone made an error, so I call the business office to see whats up with this. I was told the billing was correct. I ask how, since I saw the partner AND PAID for that visit. The girl in the business office say that because my doc spoke to me about the visit he could charge me too. Any way I got a bit upset and Stan took the phone to talk to her. Now any of you who know Stan, know he rarely raises his voice and is very polite. The girl gets quite upset because Stan is wanting answers and she cant or wont answer them and she hangs up on him. A few minutes later I get a call from my doc who is totally pissed off and screaming at me. Each time I try to explain to him what the situation is, he tells me he and wife dont need my stinking money and then he hangs up on me. Over the next few months I call and leave messages for him, which he doesnt answer. My next check up comes and I say what the heck and go see him. Hes very polite, but keeps saying he wants to be sure I know they are not trying to screw me. He says this for the final time as we walk out of his office and the entire staff is there to witness it. Now I know Ill definately find another doctor, but Im wondering if I should report him , or just let it go. He really embarassed me and I had a hard time not saying anything back to him.... so what do you all think???
