Reason No. 5 of 10 Why go to Mass, when we can worship God anywhere? 5. Develop the moral life. The basic structure of the Eucharist is to take, bless, break and give in imitation of the Lord’s passion, death and resurrection, so weekly--or more frequent--celebration of the Mass helps us develop as moral human beings. If we celebrate faithfully, we become more and more like the image of generosity and love of Jesus into whom we were baptized. The final test of whether the Mass “works” is: “By their fruits shall you know them.”
