Reason why Osun election will be tough Its important to know about some reason why #Osun election is going to be tough. First of all, let us showcase a little bit about Osun state for those who dont know some details, and for those who already know, just to give a little bit of sense on what we are going to talk about. *.Osun is a state based in southern #Nigeria, which has almost 4,137,627 population as of 2005 sensus. The states current governor is Rauf Aregbesola #ACN member, who was declared as the winner of 2007 election by Appeal Court in Ibadanon 26 November 2010. *.The interesting fact about this election is both the two giant party in Nigeria has huge interest. Both the #PDP and #APC want to use all they have just to win the lection. That will make them gained controll of the state that has over 4million people, and that can help in the upcoming presidential #election2015. *.Another reason is that a major clampdown on the homes of leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) began in Osun State at nightfall on Friday, featuring armed and masked security agents. Sporadic shooting was also heard, striking terror into neighborhoods according to reports filed by citizens in Osun state, Sahara Reporters understand. The Government Reservation Area home of Senator Bayo Salami was invaded by armed soldiers and security agents at midnight, as was the country home of the first civilian Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke. Sahara Reporter also added that the entrance gate of Salami’s house was forced open by the hooded security agents who fired sporadically to gain entrance into the sprawling compound to arrest him. The homes of the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and that of the State Secretary of APC, Prince Gboyega Famoodun, were also invaded at midnight by armed soldiers. With this type of physical act, how can you tell me that the election is not going to be tough, Of course it will. *.VOTERS in Osun turned out in large numbers in various wards as early as 6 a.m. ahead of the official time of 8 a.m. for accreditation in Saturday’s governorship election. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that although there was light rainfall in the early hours of Saturday, the turnout was impressive. Alhaji Bamidele Suleiman, a party ward collation agent, said more that 100 voters had arrived in Unit 19 Ward 5 in Osogbo Local Government Area as early as 6.30 a.m. In Ward 001, Ataoja E, many voters said they were in the ward early to do accreditation in time to cast votes as quick as possible. Mrs Titilayo Amoo, one of the voters at Unit 16, Osogbo Local Government, said she led some other women to the unit early enough to participate in the election. Mr Jolayemi Gabriel, 76, said he was impressed that elder citizens such as himself were at the polling unit early enough, The Guagian Nigeria report. *.In an article by Daily-Time-Nigeria claiming that President of Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, Comrade Shehu Sani, has declared that any attempt to rig the Osun State governorship elections holding today would amount to a declaration of war against Nigerians and a deliberate mutilation of the constitution. Thats another point that shows why the Osun election is going to be tough. In an e-mail statement issued by Sani in Kaduna, he warned that the Osun guber polls must not be rigged, adding that massive deployment of troops and the gale of arrest of All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains in the state stand condemned. Sani called on the people of Osun and other Nigerians to stand firm in the defence of free, transparent and fair elections in the state stressing that Ekiti action must not repeat itself in Osun.
